Water safety guidelines

New piercings are open wounds. Bodies of water harbor many types of bacteria. Submerging a new piercing in bodies of water puts you at risk for infection!

It is our professional recommendation that clients refrain from submerging their new piercing in bodies of water for a minimum of 6 weeks.

It is important to understand not all bodies heal at the same rate. Many biological and lifestyle factors can affect the rate of healing. A piercing that is still in its initial healing phase may present with blood, fluid, crust, pain to the touch, swelling, and/or irritation bumps. If a client reaches the 6 week mark and still has signs the piercing is still in the initial healing phase we recommend avoiding submerging in water.

Appointment disclaimer: Clients canceling their appointment in studio due to not reading our guidelines for water safety will result in a cancelation fee equal to the full service fee.

Preparing for your appointment
  • Bring required ID.
  • Eat a meal 2–3 hours before a piercing and stay hydrated.
  • Feel free to bring one guest for emotional support.
Guest policy
  • Clients are welcome to bring one guest along with them for their appointment. Please do not bring multiple guests; we will not be able to accommodate them in the space and they may be asked to wait outside.
  • We do not permit children under the age of 6 in the studio.
  • To keep our clients and staff safe, we do not permit unattended children in the studio. Please do not bring children to your piercing appointment unless you have an adult with you who can watch them during your appointment.
  • Our piercer’s job is to keep everyone safe during your piercing appointment. Guests that become disruptive, including children, may be asked to leave.
Jewelry policy

We do not pierce with jewelry purchased outside of our studio.

We only use jewelry which has been ordered, handled, inspected, and sterilized by our own staff. We do not pierce with outside jewelry to avoid complications which commonly stem from poor quality jewelry.

If you have a piece of jewelry previously purchased from Timeless Body Arts or Timeless Piercing & Jewelers that you’d like to use for a new piercing, please bring it to us for inspection at minimum 2 hours prior to your scheduled appointment. Our staff will check it for damage or scratches as well as check if it is suitable for the placement of the new piercing. If it is determined to be safe and suitable, our staff will take the jewelry for cleaning and reprocessing so it will be ready for your appointment. Reprocessing jewelry takes time, energy, and resources. There is a $25 fee to cover the cost and labor of properly reprocessing your jewelry so it is safe and sterile for reuse.
